We need to rename a cat. On closer examination it turns out Leia has a little nutsack. |
|
Since none of them answer to their names, we could swap out Yoda and Leia's names, but honestly Yoda looks like a Yoda, so Leia just needs a new name.

Or must it be a SWars name? Obie, maybe? Lars, if you want an "L" name.

3. Luke is her (his, i guess, but it'll take a little getting used to) brother. |
|
We've also got a Vader and a Yoda. LeftyKid named them.

6. We had that happen to us and Sweetie contentedly lived out his |
|
life as Sweetie. It did not appear to affect him and I love when people have stories behind names. I wouldn't rename him but I am sure that makes me cruel or something.

7. They're up for adoption, so their names are likely temporary anyhow. |
|
Unless they get adopted by geeks.

11. Jessie was Jillie until she came to us. |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-29-08 09:46 PM by MrsGrumpy
MrG and I had a huge erm...discussion. I really liked Jillie and he wasn't going to let someone else (the breeder) name "my goddamned dog" so we settled. He initially wanted to name her Jennie but he had a girlfriend named Jennifer before me who still kind of "had it" for him. I told him that, while I knew he wasn't naming her Jennie for that reason, the human Jen would be all flattered and perhaps start stalking him again. Like I said, we settled. Funny thing... pet names. Almost as trouble causing as baby names.

Hey. :hi: WannaB goes by what, by most, would be considered the "boy version" of her given name. I guess some of me rubbed off.

10. That wouldn't stop Haruka's mom |
|
She had that happen with a breeder. She bought a female cat and named it "Cuddles." The vet informed her otherwise. 12 years later, he's still "Cuddles."
Of course, she ended up with a random litter of bunnies because the vet said her two bunnies were boys. She took them in to get neutered, and it was "Oops, I made a mistake. He's a boy, and she's pregnant."
And now, we have two bunnies. Her mom has three new bunnies, because she won't give them to people she doesn't know. One of them is a therapy bunny at the nursing home now.
