At 1:04pm EST yesterday I started a poll questioning which Cable News channel would be the first to label Ted Stevens as a Democrat. I know that Faux is the renowned leaders in mis-labelling corrupt republicans but I do know that MSNBC once slipped one on us too.

Sure enough at 5:13pm EST yesterday:

2. Astounding.
I've never seen a news outlet make as many "mistakes" as Fox News has.

In the end, it's as if it doesn't matter what disinformation they make; it's all noise.

4. And do they EVER make that "mistake" the other way?
Such an honest mistake it is by the captioners too...after all, R and D are typed by two different fingers, and are on two different rows, but OTHER THAN THAT...

What a buncha transparent aholes.

19. They actually DID do it the other way 'round ...
Edited on Wed Jul-30-08 01:55 PM by NanceGreggs
... on Election night in 2006.

Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) was far in the lead against his Republican opponent. So they simply switched the (D) and (R) when showing the results for each candidate as they came in - hopefully to dispel the "rumour" that Republicans were losing seats to Democrats across the board.

9. Here's one for Foley...
Edited on Wed Jul-30-08 11:54 AM by racaulk

I understand how it could be an accident the first time. But when there's a pattern that is developing, it cannot be written off as careless or accidental. This is being done on purpose.

Can we get rid of the "liberal media" lie YET?

On edit: Here is a second one where the "suggestion" that Foley is a Dem is quite clear:

Not the cable Fox News Network. Still, pretty unsurprising.

27. Isn't that precious?
The same old "honest mistake" from Faux. Again.

My all time favorite piece of "fair 'n balanced" is still the one from last year, where they cut from a story about an Obama rally to some live footage, which turned out to be protesters outside the trial of an alleged pedophile. The "Obama Rally" banner across the bottom of the screen was displayed correctly, of course. Oops.
