Post: Who were the first 5 DUers you ever met?

First 3 I met were Ramsey, Skinner and Earlg - we were at the Emily's List luncheon in DC and Ramsey had a table there so she invited us to sit at her table (my friend Lisa was with us too).

Fourth & Fifth DUers were Khephra and WillPitt - they were the first guests to make it into Philadelphia the following weekend for the DU gathering in Philly.

New_Beawr and I have shared the same stage, and he brought his son to one of my concerts, though we haven't formally met.

I haven't met any of you. That, of course, shouldn't come as a surprise since I do live in a backwater town (the biggest city in the state but still a town by most standards) in the most backwater state in the most backwater part of the United States.

The first DUer I met in Minneapolis was GAspnes, with whom I had coffee when I was here looking for a place to live.

The next gathering was the one held to celebrate the visit of socialdemocrat1981. I met a lot of people then and also on the local Kucinich campaign.

This was in early 2007. I had no specific candidate in mind at the time, and I posted an honest general question. I admit to being a relative novice, and not as enlightened or learned as many others here.

Man, I'll never forget the first response. This guy ripped me a new asshole for even asking the question. He apparently felt I had already made up my mind, but I am not sure who he thought I was supporting.

A couple others responded to say it was a legitimate question. But I didn't respond anymore and let the fucker sink like a rock. I'll never forget who that was though.

He turned me on to DU and I did the same for her. I was fortunate enough to meet noexcuseforgeorge just before the 2004 election, when she had a meet-up at her house, and also met FarLeftRage there. After corresponding, I met Cooley Hurd in 2005, and have lived with him since December of that year. And I met malta blue weekend before last, when ThomCat visited her. They're all pretty informed and wonderful people... :-)
