1. I'm in Utah: Cloudy and hazy for weeks. |

Hopefully it will clear out soon. I'm glad you want to marry your telescope. I'm sure you two will be happy together. At least she won't talk back. Just hope the repukes won't add a constitutional amendment against telescope marriages.
Aren't Jupiter and Saturn beautiful through the cold quiet winter air?
Hey, will you be able to see the upcoming Venus transit across the Sun from where you are?
Good seeing! :)

I built a 12" Newtonian when I was in High school....Christ, it took forever to grind the mirror. Never again! I'll buy the next one. I do remember many a sleepless night though... :)

3. Galileo FS-120DX is the model number. |

It was bought off QVC, I don't know if that's normally good or bad, but I really dig what I got, it was a gift but I think it was a killer deal.
5" reflector.
Rings of Saturn.. woohoo!

I used to love separating double stars. Did you know Polaris (North Star) is a double star? also Mizar (middle star of the handle of big dipper) is a triple star.

Cloudy most of the time, and when you try to see something on a cloudy night, you realize that they don't make flannel thongs.

And it's also best to go out into the country for best viewing.
A telescope used in the city is basically worthless.

I love mine too, even though its only a toy. But, I live right on the top of a hill with almost 360 degree view, very little light pollution, and of course, the Southern Hemisphere (although I hate it at times because all the stars are upside down)
