Poll question: What was the WORST NUMBER 1 HIT of the early 1980s?
Originally, I had planned for this poll to cover 1980-84, but things didn't quite work out that way. Believe it or not, the 10 choices on this poll are *only* for 1980 and '81! God, what a couple of lame-ass years for Top 40 music! :puke:

I tend to forget that "crap" with one exception: Sonny Bono became a Congressman and enabled the RIAA to remember and profit from "his music" forever.

9. This is one poll where you should have multiple votes or all of the above.
The '80's were not the best of times for music.

20. au contraire
it was a great era for music, especially 1980 - 1984, if you didn't listen to ONLY what the commercial radio stations shoved down your throat.
Thank God I discovered College Radio. Nowhere else could you hear Progressive, Punk, and even "New Wave" (I hate that term) music played.

The character of Arthur Bach (played by Dudley Moore) was loosely based on Moore's comedy partner of many years, Peter Cook?

Christopher Cross represents perhaps the nadir of American popular music.

Seriously. Debby Boone was WAY better than Cross.

41. I Recall This Comedy Drag Queen Who Used To Sing That Song...
... but it was being sung to a dildo... actually a sack of dildoes... each time she reached the chorus of "you light up my life" she reached in the bag and got an even LARGER dildo.

It was hysterical!!!

You bring me hope... to carry on.
It can't be wrong... when it FEELS SO RIGHT!!!
