Who here has played Metal Gear Solid 4? (mild spoiler)
Do you recall ever seeing a game so left-friendly? I don't.

2. I loved it. (bigger spoiler)
The "war economy" backstory and the PMCs are a chilling vision of a world we can see being born all around us. All economic activity devoted to war and every citizen a soldier. That's BushCo's world.

The only thing that disappointed me was the ending. I wish Hideo could have let his character go instead of giving us that "maybe he won't die" off-into-the-sunset ending.

3. Hideo can only hope his stalkers will be happy with that.
I haven't gotten to the end yet - got stalled on the mecha fight w/Liquid, then had real life shit to deal with - but I read somewhere that Japanese gaming otaku are totally off the hook.

5. That makes sense.

The game has a nice downbeat ending before the credits roll, which wraps the story up nicely and puts Snake's story into a broader context. Then, after the credits, we get the "happy" ending. I guess that was the only way Hideo could find to have both the ending he wanted and to keep the more rabid otaku from killing him.

6. The fanservice can only help
So far, the two geekiest characters have gotten laid.

When Naomi and Otacon hooked up, I was like: :eyes:

But when Meryl and Akiba hooked up, I was like: KNOW YOUR MARKET!

7. LOL! That's exactly what I thought!
I thought a few of the "resolutions" were a case of putting one too many ribbons on the package, but after ten years of following the various incarnations of the franchise, fans have a right to expect things to be tied up neatly (if you consider getting married on the loading ramp of a cargo plane in the middle of a warzone "neat").
