2. Thanks!
We went around and around on it. Almost bought a used Buddy, then decided to go with a new Piaggio Fly, then found out they were sold out and there was no expected date when they would be back in...then decided to go back to the used Buddy, then realized it was worth a little extra dough to get the 2 year warranty and the exact color/make we wanted. I'm probably picking it up tomorrow. :bounce:

The Little Italia, made by Chicago's Genuine Scooter Company. Yay!!

3. I've seriously considered one myself and may very well go that route in a year or two.
I have a short commute and stay here in my little town most of the time.

Did you get to toot the Stebel air horn?

7. It's loud!
The horn, that is.

It's a really lovely scooter. I highly recommend her.

Now I need to come up with a name.

16. I need one of those!
I rarely drive my car more than a few miles a day, and that's perfect for short errands/work close by. Besides, it reminds me of "Roman Holiday" with Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. Very sexy.

19. All three!
To quote Lee Mercer Jr. I did a lot of tooling around on a Vespa in Europe during my twenties. Unless you're driving long distances or hauling a lot of gear, it's a very sensible means of transportation.

25. The scooter was $2400 out the door
The list price is $2100 but there are a bunch of fees on top of that. I also bought a helmet and a lock and a couple of other accessories. My total was about $2550. Really not bad compared to similar Vespas.

24. Cool! Remember the following to go with.
Arai or Shoei or other quality snell rated helmet. Do not go cheap on these. You can find one that fits and then buy it online.

common sense clothes. I see people on these going 40mph in shorts and flip flops.

Have fun.

26. Oooh. I will keep your helmet advice in mind.
I didn't spend nearly that much. Those look great.
Yeah - I am sensible about attire. The saleswoman at the scooter dealership really stressed that.

29. Kind of looks like an olive in a martini!
And I mean that in the nicest possible way, as I'm a fan of olives in martinis.

Very retro. Very 60's La Dolce Vita!

60+ mpgs too. Not bad.

Part of what you're paying for is the name, I suspect. It's Piaggio, the makers of Vespa.
