10. Do you remember the movie "The Bear?" |

It was this movie about, yes, a bear back in the Eighties. It was a big hit because it was wordless, I think, and about, again, a bear. Now the key thing to know about this anecdote is: the bear does NOT die at the end, okay? My friend Jeff walked out after seeing it with his kids, saw the long line waiting for the next screening, and whined loudly "Man, I can't believe the bear dies at the end!" The entire line of people groaned and complained. Ha!

Well, except for the spaceship, but this is Monty Python. :-)
But otherwise, it was pretty accurate. Israel was under foreign domination, their leaders toadied up to the Romans, their religious leaders were a bunch of anal-compulsives obsessed with being ritually "clean" or "unclean," and would-be "messiah's" were falling out of the woodwork.
