Employees Suspended after Pensioner Trapped in Toilet
Two council employees have been suspended after a pensioner was trapped in a local authority toilet block for more than 14 hours, it emerged today.

Sandwell Council confirmed that it had offered its apologies to the 71-year-old man, who was locked inside the windowless public conveniences in Blackheath, West Midlands, earlier this month.

...
“A 71-year-old gentleman was locked in the toilets in Blackheath town centre at about 3.40pm on Friday February 13 and discovered by staff opening up the toilets at 6.20am on Saturday February 14.

“We made sure he was fit to return home, took him there and gave him our sincere apologies.”
