What I don't get about Repbulicans.... |

And this may be too politicky for the lounge...but.
How is it they believe there is any possible way McCain can "win voters over from Obama?"
Pretty much anybody behind the Dems right now - is there because they are sick and goddamn tired of 8 years of Republican fucking up. Why would they be so easily swayed for more?
"Oh you got you a pretty chick on your ticket? More Lube this time please!"

1. My $.02: they're going for the PUMA vote |
|
Here's the logic:
1) Hillary supporters are angry that she didn't get the nom, or get selected as VP;
2) So if we put a middle-aged white lady on OUR ticket, the PUMA vote will come to us;
3) ????
4) PROFIT!
Yes, they actually think like this. Sad, isn't it?

You think up an acronym, get 4 friends, one of whom knows HTML, and you have a political movement? More like a quick bowel movement. PUMA is a myth, and will not deliver any significant votes. Let them vote for Nader.

3. They're looking for the people who pay no attention to politics |
|
There are millions of them and a lot of them vote. People who have no idea what the issues are or how the candidates feel about the issues. They vote on the basis of who last said or did something that made them notice them - whether it was a flattering picture in a magazine, a blurb on the evening news, or something a co-worker said in passing.
They figure they'll get votes from the "I'd-hit-it" crowd (and probably will), from the "oh-look-it's-a-woman" crowd, and from all the other vapid, clueless people who are swayed not by any kind of policy but by minutiae and images.
That's my take anyway.

4. Maybe angry bickering between Obamites and Hillbots on sites like this one led them to believe it's |
|
possible. Who knows, and who cares? Let's just be glad they're that stupid. You know what they say about gift horses...
