Two cute young Mormon youths just...
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 06:49 PM by skooooo
...rang my doorbell. I answered and politely told them that I "wasn't interested."

Then they asked if there was anything they could do for me.

1. I nearly killed two of them on bikes this morning.
I love the Mormon boys working on their missions. They are always sweet and polite.

2. Seriously, if you're willing to hear their pitch...
I've heard they'll help clean gutters, move woodpiles...all kinds of fun tasks.

that is mean.

Of course, I had something completely different in mind.

But I'm sure I'm the only one who thought that.

6. Yes. They can be very nice. I once had some nice young girls
offer to bless my home. I said what the heck and let them.

12. I think its a good experience, honestly.
I volunteered for a congressional candidate 2 years ago who had been a mormon missionary. (He's still a mormon, though a progressive one.) He was really comfortable talking to anyone and everyone and knocking on doors and always very polite.

He was a terrific candidate, and honestly if I had to think of an experience that would be a good prep for running for office later in life, that would be it!

17. I would have asked them to sweep my porch
But they never even try to convert me any more. There are dozens in this complex, and they always great me politely when I walk the dog, but I think that honking big statue of Quan Yin next to my door and the Tibetan prayer flags have made their point.
