Anyone seen "Punch Drunk Love"?
Was that the biggest waste of 2 hours or what? Does Adam Sandler have an acting ability at all? Is it just me?

The man just isn't funny!!.. He has done a few funny things...

3. Sorry. I absolutely loved it.
I have defended it before and I'll do it again. I thought Sandler was wonderful (and I am NOT a fan). I thought it was a perfect romantic movie for cynics.

4. I liked it....
Was it PT Anderson's best? No. But it was a quirky, little indie movie. If you're looking for laugh out loud comedy, that wasn't it. But I thought it was a decent character study, although I think they should have fleshed out Emily Watson's character a little more to explain why she would be attracted to a guy as neurotic as he was.

5. Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore
Are my faves. The rest I can take or leave.

Winona just irritates me, now, so I can't watch her.

6. I liked it a lot
and thought Sandler was quite good.

Not on the same level as Anderson's other movies, but I thought this was a very nice "small" movie.

7. didn't like it at all
I thought Anger Management was better.
Sandler's best acting role? Happy Gilmore. Sorry, whenever I'm in a funk I pop in either my Office Space or Happy Gilmore DVD (or the Simpsons, King of the Hill, anything funny!)

8. I think it was over-hyped
I liked it, but I didn't see it as the Sandler breakthrough performance that most critics hailed.

Robin Williams is a goofy comic actor that can play a dramatic role well. His Sy Parrish of One Hour Photo is brilliantly portrayed, IMHO.

9. My B. S detector kept me away. I get my Wes's mixed up but didn't he do
Magnolia and Bottlerocket? Or do I have it wrong.

10. You mean your Anderson's mixed up, not your Wes's...
Paul Thomas Anderson did Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Punch Drunk Love.
Wes Anderson did Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, and the Royal Tennenbaums.

11. HORRID!! I Heard A DJ Say Re: 50 First Dates:
"A welcome change of pace from Sandler's usual "90 minutes of dumb guy in love" formula, this one is only 89 minutes.

12. Wonderful film.
I don't usually go for "tender" movies, and I don't normally go for "Adam Sandler" movies. But this was both, and it was one of my favorites of the year (what year was that? '02?).
