3. I'd have to say...it's child birth. |
|
They have new methods for breaking-up stones externally.
But, Circumcision with a rusty axe head would belong there too.

6. Yes, external shock wave lithotripsy |
|
I underwent that in 2002.
But prior to the treatment, the symptoms from the kidney stone were HORRIBLE!

4. When I had my kidney stone, |
|
it took two intravenous injections of dilaudid to bring the pain down to a tolerable level. My profession is nursing and I have had many female patients who experienced both and most say that the kidney stone was more painful.

7. Welcome to DU Go Eagles, I had a RN told me the same thing when I |
|
had a stone removed surgically(can't remember what they called the procedure). She said "I've had children and I've had kidney stones. The birth canal is made for bearing children, the urethra is not made for passing stones." God Bless her!:)

5. Being male I can only speak about a kidney stone. The best way to |
|
describe it is a miniature Samurai warrior with swords strapped to his feet slicing his way down my wee wee. Only he feels like he's the size of Godzilla breathing everlasting fire and brimstone and the hordes of Hell itself MUST be ready to come rushing forth from behind whatever is causing me such excruciating pain. SOOO, I don't no about birthing babies, but them kidney stones ain't no fun.

8. heh heh... pretty good description |
|
All my pain was caused in the kidney itself, as the 1 cm stone blocked the ureter.
After the lithotripsy, there was nothing but sand, and I passed that without even noticing, except for one larger chunk, still rather small. I felt that one come out. It felt weird, but not painful.

But I know someone who's been through both multiple times. She said that she'd rather have 10 more children than go through a kidney stone again. But I've heard that people forget the true pain of childbirth, so who knows what's worse.

Some things are meant to be a passage for sizeable objects.
Some are not.
