Copying DVDs...
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 12:23 PM by TreasonousBastard
(for legal purposes, of course.)

I'm able to rip and backup my 4GB DVDs so there's no problem there. I can rip and copy to disk my 7GB double layer DVDs, but can't write them to DVD.

I know about DVDShrink and some other things to shrink the movies and make them fit, but I don't want to reduce the quality-- I want to spread them over two disks. So far I've seen lots of people say it can be done (of course it CAN be done) but no one seems to be able to say just how to do it.

Anybody done it? Any special software needed?

On Edit-- XP Media Center (I know you're gonna ask)

1. Get a dual layer burner
They're under $30 at newegg.

5. Yeah! I was just there snooping around, and...
it's now a question of which one to get.

(Most of these are OEM, so I gots to figger out what's gonna work with my sytem.)

6. They'll all work
All OEM means is you don't get a fancy box and the "free" software with it. But your existing burning software will work just fine.

7. Feel free to call me an asshole...
whilst checking my free bays, power supply plugs, whether or not I have SATA drives...

I discovered that this thing had a dual layer drive all the time!

(Next Staples run I'll see if they have any DL media.)
