6. This is the 4th one I've seen, at least by the Mariners.
The other three were Jay Buhner, Alex Rodriguez, and John Olerud.

2. That is cool - The Twins' Carlos Gomez did it earlier this season!
Did you know that two players hit for the cycle today? Only time that happened before was back in 1920.

5. This definitely has NOT been a good year for them.
I told MrSG tonight that they ought not think of firing Riggleman and Stottlemeyer (if that's what they're thinking). Rather, they should fire most of the team

The fact of the matter is that he's been a fine baseball player for most of his time in Seattle.

And based on what good third basemen generally make, he's a fairly compensated player. Relatively speaking.

9. In addition to hitting for the cycle, he went 5 for 5 yesterday.
I think he has been a good player overall.

The media can go suck eggs for all I care.

11. It means he got all the possible type of hits a baseball player
can get in one game: single,double,triple, home run...
