I mean, the people here at college are nice and everything, but I don't know any of them well enough to really tell them what's on my mind. I couldn't get in touch with my boyfriend today, and my best friend's in some group home and I don't even know where. So I can't call her either. :(

2. I know the feeling

I've been a lonely person for a very long time. For a while I couldn't help it due to an imbalance in the noggin, but for the past five years it's been totally my fault. Maybe I should say my decision. Anyway, things are looking up now days. I see a smart, talented girlfriend on the horizon and I've got a little bounce in my step.

You know you can always count on us for some empathy and conversation, but I understand it's not the same as actually hanging out with someone.

because she's still finishing high school. But she kept running away so they put her in a group home.

11. when I was a freshman and lonely...

....my mother told me to go out and buy a cake or ice cream, and then knock on some doors and ask people to come share it. It worked beautifully.

Except there was never a GF or BF anywhere else either, for me. It gets better. But it can take some serendipity to find someone that you can really feel comfortable with.
