Random Movie Quibbles and Nit Picks
1. Independence Day - So Will Smith crashes in the Grand Canyon, hoists a giant alien in his parachute and it takes him LESS THAN THREE HOURS to WALK from the Grand Canyon to the Salt Flats outside Las Vegas????? All the while in a baking hot sun!

2. Kindergarden Cop - Accepting the premise that the State Board of Education and the School District would allow an uncertified cop to teach kindergarden, why the hell is Arnold not only carrying a gun on his ankle, but then CRAWLING AROUND ON THE FLOOR with the kids crawling all over him???

2. Why aren't the faces of our 'action heroes' swollen up like cantaloupes
after a long fist fight taking multiple hits to the cheek bones.

3. Why don't people ever lock their car doors?
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 10:17 AM by Rob H.
It happens all the time--a character drives somewhere, turns the car off, and then just gets out of the car and walks away no matter where he's parked. Seems like a lot of movie characters don't wear seatbelts, either.

4. Mine is really picky-picky, but here goes.
12 Angry Men is one of my favorite films. Every shot, every line of dialog is perfect...except one. In the very beginning, the trial is over and the judge gives the case to the jury. The shot is simple, the jurors stand up and file out towards the Jury Room.

But Lee J. Cobb (bless him) decides to pad his part. He gets up and looks around as if he is lost and doesn't know which way to go. Anybody who has served jury duty knows that by this point in the trial the jury has been in and out of that box many, many times. Sidney Lumet should have caught this and said "Knock it off Cobb!"
