My daughter was at the doctor today for her 39-week checkup - |
|
and she spoke with the doctor who attended when SHE was born (same clinic, same hospital). She then send me a text message that read: "Dr. H says she remembers giving birth to me."
After I got my eyebrow out of its raised position I send a message back: "That's funny. I could have sworn that **I** gave birth to you."
:D
Kayla responded: "Oh, be quiet. You know what I mean! I'm surprised she remembered after all these years."
Actually, I'm surprised too. Kayla was born 21 years ago. I saw this doctor for my entire pregnancy for prenatal care and for about a year afterward as both Kayla's and my doctor. That means I haven't seen her in probably 20 years, and she still remembers attending Kayla's birth.

One of my high school teachers had a lot of students who were the children of his past students, and was looking forward to teaching a third generation. Unfortunately that didn't happen because he died young, but it was really neat that he got to watch so many of his students grow up and raise families and be involved in that, and I know it meant a lot to him.
