I dreamt I was bitten by a fox. Anyone wanna take a crack at interpretation?

I saw a friend carrying kittens upstairs, so I went downstairs to see if there were more kittens, if the mommacat was OK, etc. I saw a beautiful red fox biting the mommacat on the neck, trying to carry her away, so I went over to try to stop the fox and it bit me on the left hand. It hurt. Then I woke up. :shrug:

2. OK, I'll take a stab at the obvious metaphor.

Please understand that I have no experience interpreting dreams whatsoever, and I'm more than likely full of shit.

Fox = FOX news.

kittens = the future.

momma cat = the last eight years.

Sad as it might be, Fox news and the right wing have won the last eight years, and momma cat is dead. The kittens are safe and are hope for the future. However we are not out of danger yet, and the fox can still bite.

5. Here's my amateur stab at interpreting your dream.

It made me think of an analogy of current corruption in politics, like the foxes watching the hen house.

In your case, it was a fox "rescuing" a momma cat. Yep, you tried to rescue the momma cat and got bit. Just like our current political climate. "Trust me", and then they kill and bury you.

But maybe I've become too bitter. YMMV.

You describe the red fox as beautiful--that's telling. There was nothing especially wrong with the fox except what it seemed to be doing. The fox was biting the mother cat on the neck--potentially threatening, but also, not uncommon in mating amongst predatory quadrupeds. It suggests an inappropriate situation that might be less than you at first imagine. The bite suggests that "No good deed, or imagined good deed, goes unpunished."

I am in a hotel at a press event, and it is many years from now. We are all in a ball room, and there is a Masque of the Red Death feeling in the air. The room is dark, because the generators aren't working properly. The lava flow is coming for our building, there was no time, and no bulletin told us. I can see the orange-yellow glowing stream swarm through the ground-floor windows and smell death, and while others panic, I realize running is futile. I've been alive too long to run.

And I lay down in it. I woke up not a little chilled from that one.

I don't often remember my dreams, but sometimes they're vivid. Yours sounds like something that would really stay with a person for a while.
