The curse of the "I" storm... |
|
Lets take a look at Atlantic hurricanes that used the "I" name since 1999.
1999: Irene - Cat 1 into Florida, cat 2 into North Carolina. 900m in damage in Florida. 2000: Issac - Category 4, remained over ocean. 2001: Iris - Category 4 landfall in Belize. (Retired) 2002: Isidore - Category 3 into Yucatan Peninsula. (Retired) 2003: Isabel - Category 5 over Atlantic, landfall as category 2 in North Carolina. 51 dead, 3.6b in damage. (Retired) 2004: Ivan - Category 5 in Caribbean. Damage in Jamaica, Cuba, and Gulf Coast. 124 killed, 19.2b in damage. (Retired) 2005: Irene - Category 2, remained out to sea. 2006: Issac - Category 1, remained out to sea.
Well, it looks like the curse is over. Two straight seasons where the "I" storm didn't do anything...
2007: Ike...

|

Out of town this past weekend, and this week featured Offspring1's first days of Pre-K. It's been hectic!
