So I'm checking out the latest posts on DU, and my dog Jack comes up

and starts nudging me and won't go away. Finally, I realize he's trying to tell me that something is very wrong and






























I go fill up his food dish.

1. Do you really have a dog Jack?

or is my dog (whose name is also Jack) bothering you?

3. Yep - Jack was left in my car on a cold winter night on the

Feast of John the Baptist. He lived up to his namesake and baptised a lot of things at first. The first morning, he wouldn't eat tthe dry dog food but looked longingly at the kids' oatmeal. He sucked that down like there was no tomorrow. He was a very young puppy!

Jack is about 70lbs, very long legged and is some sort of hound. He has a white body with a black saddle, black ears, brown muzzle and occasional black spots. One ear stands up, the other lies down. Jack disapproves of strange cats walking through his yard.

2. My dog pushes her metal dish around when it's empty.

If I don't take the hint, she'll bring it to me. :eyes:

That and drags the throw rug around the kitchen.
