Thank you, everyone, for the vibes.
There is a lot of good news. My speech is closer to normal. I have less trouble finding words when I'm speaking. It has been very weird because I am not having any trouble finding words when I write. I just can't seem to find sounds when I try to say those words. I'm still moving physically more slowly than normal, but that's improving too.

The flashes of hot and cold have been interesting. I have been enjoying the cold flashes a lot. It feels like suddenly walking into a snow-day. I've had hot flashes for years so it's nice to have them balanced out for a while. I'm hoping the cold flashes stick around for a few more weeks. (Please!)

These are apparently known but rare side effect of my meds, and this was probably triggered by the effects of the migraine I had yesterday. So the solution is to reduce one med, increase another, add a third, and temporarily add several others for one week to get things going. My neurologist is pretty confident about all of this, and she's going to be watching this for the next week to make sure it goes okay.

The only fly in the ointment is the Insurance company. One of the temporary meds has to be taken in combination with another, but the insurance company has denied coverage for the other. So my doctor is appealing tomorrow so that I can get these meds quickly.

1. Thank goodness!
You had me really worried. Some of the symptoms you described were consistent with a stroke. I'm so glad you're feeling better.

Thom, you just gotta bitch more. You're such a blooming stoic that when you do complain, you scare the life out of us. Tell us all about your hangnails and toenail fungus. Please.

6. If I started complaining about every little thing
I'd never be able to stop, and I'd quickly go mad. :P

Besides, that's not what I want to talk about, and I doubt it's what anyone wants to hear.

But I really, truly appreciate the concern and understanding when something really scary happens.

8. Scoot came and went before I got home.
I don't know if/when he's coming back tonight. :(

But I'm doing well enough that I'm not worried tonight. Last night was terrifying. Tonight I'm just hoping to get some sleep. :)

I'll definitely keep you updated. Thank you so much! Love you too!

12. Hi SA!
She mentined that conversation. Though we can't really talk until I can talk again. :P

I am generally optimistic once the doctors know what's going on. So I'm hopeful.

10. hi ThomCat -- so nice to see you here!
I am really, really relieved to hear that the drs know what is going on - drug side effects and not a different issue. Phew. Though certainly no fun for you (though I'll ask the gods/goddesses to keep your cold flashes around for a while).

18. I will never complain about drug interactions again.
A bit of nausea/armpit pain is waaay better than what you deal with!
I hope your insurance company hurries...When Mayo appealed my denial of Interferon, they told me/Mayo it would be a month..Fortunately it turned out to be only about two weeks...
