I see Mike Easley has declared a state of Emergency and sure that guy from SC has too (he's republican, I don't bother to learn their names but whomever he is I'm sure he/she will do a good job too).

From what I've read they also expect Ike to follow right behind Hanna

I don't wish it on any of us. Maybe it will dissipate.

The only thing I'm really worried about is losing power...I live near a State Park with lots of trees and they tend to take the power lines out pretty quickly (after Isabel I lost power for two days..which is alot for being so far inland)

18. Wilmington NC checking in!

So far so good. Overcast skies and a little breeze. I work in Wilmington NC, but live 40 minutes south, near Holden Beach, about 40 miles north of Myrtle Beach, SC, close to the beach. To be honest, I'm not concerned. I've lived through worse. My boyfriend, who works in municipal water treatment for the city of Wilmington, has to remain at the water treatment plant overnight tonight, just in case (normal policy).

Other than that, I'll let ya'll know if anything changes. As for Ike, NOAA's forecast has it going to Florida, but we'll see.

23. It's strayed a bit to the south in the last couple advisories, so the plan right now is to stay put

26. All clear here on the Eastern front. I went down to Surf City and

brought my boat home to Clinton. I rode out Ernesto down there two years ago (cat 1) and swore I'd never be that stupid again.It's getting a little rainy and gusty here, but it ain't gonna happen 'till the wee hours. I'm a little worried about Ike, I think it will be a killer for some, I'm sorry to say. Thank you for asking.:hide:
