I think I just ate a cockroach

It's kind of dark in here, and I was eating a piece of cake with crushed walnuts on top, when I noticed out of the corner of my eye a large dark spot on my computer. Because my eyes were glued to my computer screen reading an interesting forum post here, I assumed without looking directly down at it that the spot was a walnut that had fallen off of my cake, which I had just finished, yet I was still a little bit hungry. So still without looking down, I quickly picked up the dark, unidentified object, popped it into my mouth, and started chewing...

It was a little more crunchy than a walnut should have been, but it still tasted a little nutty. This prompted me to remembered that I had seen a cockroach scurry across my computer desk twice last night that I had been unable to catch. Like I said, I was hungry, so I tried not to think too much about it and swallowed anyway.

But now I just can't help thinking...that I'm still a little bit hungry. :7

I fill up my bathtub a little and drain it to flush out any possible cockroaches. That's how much I'm afraid of them. You've creeped me out.

Not particularly unpleasant. The texture was the offputting part - like when you accidentally eat part of the tail of a cocktail shrimp - if I'm feeling hungry or lazy enough, I just swallow those when that happens too.

When they get over two inches long they get pretty slow and they can't fly real well any more. This one I estimate was a little under one inch, so I guess I just got lucky. :smoke:
