I just got new pets...
My big tough hubby just came in from the garage (almost in tears, but shhhhhh, don't tell him I said anything) holding a bucket in which there were two baby field mice and their recently deceased mother. He got an old aquarium out of the attic, poured in some bedding, gave them food and and a water bottle, and set them up a new house. He is now outside burying their mother. Sometimes I remember why I married him;)

2. Awww...
I'm sorry to say that with mice, I'm not that compassionate....at least, not when they're in my house. But that's part of the reason I love cats so much.

4. What's keeping them in the aquarium?
I ask because a couple of years ago two tiny roof rat siblings went into my little catch & release mouse trap together, and I thought they were mice so I looked up some information on the 'net.
Those little guys can JUMP!!!... More than two feet straight up!

How small are these baby mice you have?

5. Prayer...
no seriously, a lid (aquarium was from our old guinea pig who went on to fertilize our tomato patch). They are small enough that they were still with mom, but they have been eating crackers and my daughters rat's food and drinking out of the bottle so I think they'll be ok. I've seen them jump already and one is hanging upside down from the screen in the lid, staring at me! Kinda creepy, just keeps staring at me :scared: I hope that lid holds...

6. Once, a long time ago, on a nice warm spring day
I was at my cousin's house by myself and decided to lie in the sun at their pool. I went into the pool house to get an inflatable raft, which had been deflated, folded in half, and draped on a folded lawn chair all winter.
I lifted the raft.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHH!", I yelled, as a mouse nest poured from the cradle of the unfurling fold and mama and several baby mice skittered down my bikini-clad front and scattered to hiding places behind the pool filter. Until then, I never understood how startling the sudden appearance of a mouse/mice can be!
