Why don't people realize when they call customer service or tech support....
...they aren't talking to the company CEO, tech engineers, or anyone else responsible for their problems? The person answering the phone has as much control over the issues as you do, and they are not the person to scapegoat your anger on.

I was thinking of this today with the douchebag who called my tech support line with the easiest solution to his problem in the world (upgrade from version 2.0.1 to 2.0.2. but was such an abusive asshole BEFORE I EVEN BEGAN TROUBLESHOOTING that I had to transfer the call to a senior division. To which of course he showed resistance and was screaming about how we should either just "fix his fucking phone" (magically I suppose) or "buy it back from him" (which of course doesn't happen) and the whole time raved about how awful "we" (that being Apple) were as if I had anything to do whatsoever with his previous problems. Unsurprisingly I later found out he was hung up on by the guy I transferred to (Hangups by the way happen in less than 1/10000 calls.)

Another person with serious problems that comes to mind is the woman who caused my female coworker to burst into tears and throw her headset against the cubicle who I later found out screamed at her over the phone that she was "a fucking worthless cunt" (remember a woman) for needing to ask basic information gathering before attempting to solve the problem. I'm rather frightened by the thought of these people in real life.

1. they prolly vote republican.
if that helps any.

anytime i get some shrill bitch, or worthless asshole who has no idea how to talk to people - i am willing to bet money that their homepage is AOL and they will refuse to go to CNN when i ask them too.

Why do i choose cnn? because it's 3 letters long and spells itself.
