I put some pepper and onion salt in it but that seems bland. Any ideas? (And don't tell me to add something from Taco Bell!)

3. well, I like paprika in it, or you could take it the curry direction. rosemary is safe.
I also like jerk chicken salad sammiches on rye toast. YUM!

make sure you put celery in that bad boy no matter what you end up doing.

General tip on spices: put a little oil in a pan and heat up the seasonings, especially rosemary, dried basil, oregano, or anything else that is greena nd dried. It makes the flavor so vibrant.

12. Minced onion,
Vidalias, if you have them.

Also, some sliced grapes are nice. So are chopped pieces of cantaloupe, believe it or not.

Got any pecans? Throw them in.

Or raisins, soaked and softened.

And, as someone said, of course, garlic.

Smoked paprika is always nice.
