Do guys use Nair on their heads these days? |
|
Edited on Fri Aug-08-03 10:08 PM by Armstead
Since the cue-ball look is "in" currently, just wondering if a lot of guys raid their wives' or girlfriends' medicine chests and slap on the ol' Nair rather than going to the barber every day or shaving their scalps.
Okay it's a stupid question, but I've been away from DU for a while and am out of practice.

never even thought of that. I usually use the clippers with no guard first, then drag a razor over the remaining stubble. Repeat every other day or so as long as I desire to stay bald. I always cut my face more shaving than I do my scalp. Hence the bald head and beard.

ever asks stupid questions.
I don't know of anyone using Nair, but it's not out of the question. A guy I work with has one of those electric rotary blade shavers he polishes the old pate with every day.
Works for him.

9. I've got a good new electric shaver |
|
and it takes a freaking hour to shave my head. Take 10-15 minutes with a razor in the shower.

How big is your head, Laz? Or are you one of those people with a weird aversion to scalp lacerations?

plus, I like to shave it real close.
Plus, I'm handicapped, so I have to go kind of slow with it.

using it. Not great stuff. But lots of guys get waxed.
Hairy chests and backs in the summertime are like wearing underwear.

5. I hate that "shaved head" look. |
|
Gimme a head with hair, long beautiful hair Shining, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen Give me down to there, hair! Shoulder length, longer (hair!) Here baby, there mama, Everywhere daddy daddy
Hair! (hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair) Flow it, Show it; Long as God can grow it, My Hair
Need I say more? My much younger husband looks like a "frame-freezed" hippie, and has long hair and I LOVE it!

6. But what if God isn't growing your hair? |
|
Shaving your head takes the guesswork out of going bald. Beats the spider-hugging-an-egg combover look any day.

About 20 years ago I decided that those 17 hairs that sometimes lay across my pate, and sometimes stood straight up with the slightest breeze, just no longer served any useful purpose. Now I'm a slick-top with a distinguished(?) grey/white fringe. I use a Panasonic linear wet/dry.
Hint for others: Get out in the sun enough to tan the top. Hate the look of a fish-belly white scalp. I see this on guys who wear baseball caps 24/7.

some are simply not good-looking without something to cover up the monstrous irregularities. Others need not be hidden.

|
every morning when I wake up I look like a white Don King. I let my hair grow long and it never reall falls down it just goes up and out. Do you like this type of hair?

13. I've seen lots of great looking guys with long, curly/wavy hair |
|
If your hair just does a Don King, some kind of hair products to tame it might help. (I have frizzy/wavy hair that goes crazy as well, and I have to use hair products to look like a human being.) Or you might need to do a shorter 'do with your type of hair; or you could shave it, depending on the shape of your head.

If it gets really long it is heavy enough to go down little and form a big hair helmet.
