3. I really like 2,3, and 7 to the exclusion of all others.
I'm so torn that I can't vote...It's so tight that if I were making the decision for my personal space...I'd be considering how they fit the color scheme and decor.

7. That's part of the appeal.
No one will recognize Iron Felix. They'll just think he's some stereotypical Soviet guy. If I get one with Lenin or Stalin people will probably wonder what the hell is wrong with me.

10. I have 2 suggestions.
2+2=5 was a slogan behind rushing to complete the 5 year plan early. Throw it back in Orwell's face

The other suggestion is, if you're tempted to go with what you have as #2, there is a German version that uses more iconographic imagery

No other choice, it's great, although the 1918-1948 poster is REALLY cool-looking.

11. The first two are the best. #5 would leave you depressed after a week.
Your cat would run away; your gold fish would commit suicide. You would eventually turn to arson just to avoid looking at it.

23. Joke I heard today
Two old Russians are talking to each other after the fall of the Soviet Union. One says to the other, "you know Dmitri, everything they told us about communism was a lie."

Dmitri replied, "yes my friend, that is true. But the sad thing is, everything they told us about capitalism was true."

The other day at work this person was going on and on about how I should be proud of my job, wasn't I proud of my job, bla, bla...I felt like saying...You should've been doing posters for Chairman Mao.

30. I must vote with the greatest number, comrade - #2.
Soviet Realism produced some really bad shit, but these are very interesting examples. Who is selling them? I wonder if the artists are getting any royalties, but they probably all got shot.
The last one is great, too.
Nice stuff.

35. serious question
and i like soviet era propaganda from an art standpoint as well, but...

why is this considered cool, while nazi stuff would make you a nutjob?

ideologically, perhaps, they are different in theoretical terms, but practically, not a whole hell of a lot

and I like number 5 the most

36. Ideology is the key.
Communism was based on love and respect for your fellow man and a shared resistance against those looking to oppress through economics. The Soviet Union was seen by many as a great beacon of hope for the progress of man that was twisted by monsters. It's historical tragedy.

Nazism, on the other hand, was built on oppression. It viewed races, creeds, and elasticities as inferior. To hang a poster of anything remotely supporting the Nazis shows that you buy into that ideology.
