so my son started work last Friday... or so we thought |

I'm a little miffed here.
The position he applied for, and was told he had was Tuesday through Saturday, 11 am to 8 pm.
But they wanted him to train last week, so they asked him to come in from 8 am to 5 pm. Fine, done.
Friday before he left, his manager told him that there would be a schedule posted the next day for the coming week.
There wasn't.
He called her yesterday to ask about when to come in. He didn't get her, but left a message. She has yet to respond.
My kid needs to be working. It's fine if you haven't figured out when you're going to use him (which is apparently the case--so I'm hearing through the grapevine), but it is only fair to relay that information to him.
Is it really all that unreasonable for them to pick up the phone and say "we're juggling the schedule due to people who need certain hours for their school. As soon as we know something, we'll let you know."?

but they need to maneuver the schedule and they can't tell him (just yet) what his hours will be.
But they should at least tell him THAT.

Hi MissMillie :hi:
...My college student son works part-time and some weeks they will work him 5 days and then the next week 2 days and so on... It's OK, with him....he only needs gas and cell phone money...but he is calling in all the time or they are calling him.
Sure hope they get a regular full-time schedule for your son, soon.
