13. It's going in our recipe book
Series!1!1!

We've used so many recipes from DUers, and books, (and the internets) and we've made many recipes up on the fly (including my famous, chicken and apple sausage sandwich), and some tinkering to existing recipes, that we need to have our own published book.

Our "Hot Rainbow Soup" will be in it of course. :9

28. I just ate a cookie. I do not know what else I will eat.
I gave the kids sandwiches, little boxes of raisins, and orange segments.

Maybe I'll have a sandwich, a little box of raisins, and orange segments (though I think I'd rather juice the last couple of oranges).
I made my husband a snack (Malt-O-Meal), and he had to run out to a meeting. He'll be hungry when he gets home, so I'll probably wait for him. Maybe I'll make ham and egg sandwiches.

The smell is driving me crazy!

40 minutes till dinner...

Onions, stew beef, new potatoes, little carrots...

2 cups beef broth, and 1/3 cup minute tapioca! It makes the prettiest gravy ever!

3 hours at 350; stir now and then...

Yum. :9

34. We had Shepherd's pie, an easy version.
Ground beef sauteed with onions, garlic, peppers, mixed with tomato paste.

Layer corn on top

Finish off with a layer of mashed potatoes with chives.

Caesar salad

Angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream.

Shepherd's pie is BoyMidlo's favorite.

36. doctored frozen pizza
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 10:26 PM by astral
So I take one of them 3-in-a-pkg. Costco chicken pesto pizzas, and:
-- sprinkle hot pepper flakes on it
-- cook for around 30 minutes at 450-500

MEANWHILE, finely chop:
-- 1/2 green pepper
-- almost 1/2 onion (white)
-- a big clove of shallots
-- a few cloves of garlic
-- some finely chopped mushrooms (but it's good with or without the 'schrooms!)

TAKE PIZZA OUT AND:
-- schmoosh a bunch of Muir Glenn Fire-Roasted Spaghetti Sauce on it
-- add a big sprinkle of parmesan cheese (I'm using the lazy powdered kind)
-- add all the above ingredients, schmoosh a bunch more of the spaghetti sauce in it
-- add some more parmesan cheese
-- smear it all around mixing well, all over the top of the pizza
-- put it back in the over for about another 30 minutes

slice it up, sprinkle more parmesan cheese on it, little Rea Salt, and Nummers!!!!

(When I am using a plain pepperonii / cheese pizza for a starter, I don't bother adding the extra spaghetti sauce.)

38. OK, that's just weird...
I made nearly the same thing as you did tonight.

Rotini pasta tossed with olive oil, fresh grated lemon peel & juice, fresh chopped oregano, capers, finely shredded Parmesan, fresh ground pepper, a pinch of sea salt, and spicy Italian sausage. The sauteed garlic, onion, and red peppers were served on the side. There was a romaine, homegrown grape tomato, cucumber, and chopped flat leaf parsley and basil salad too, but we all hopped on the carbs and had no room after that for salad. OINK!
