What should I give up for Lent?
I have decided for sure to give up abstinence, but does anyone else have any ideas?

One year I gave up French Fries (which was hard because I worked at McDonald's). I could do chocolate, but I already had some tonight and that would be really hard. I could do soda, but I only drink that when hungover or really really thirsty.

Any ideas?

12. I will celebrate my 5th year of giving up TV, and I am still
LOVING not being sold to all the time.

BLOW UP THE TV!

At least stop watching what passes for news.

5. Give up...
Calories. That would be a hell of a challenge. Like the Iron Man of eating. Or the pentathalon of self-control. I really just wanted to say Iron Man of eating.

7. Our 5 year old son thinks he is being really good
by giving up a Playstation 2 game that he does not like! He doesn't quite understand the concept that it has to be something he does like!

What about cussing? That is what I do. That will be really hard for me considering the idiot that we have for pResident. I can barely manage to say his name without some sort of dirty word before it!

11. that is an interesting suggestion, but the logic becomes kind of
circular, don't you think?

I am observing a religious ritual by giving up religion, so if I give up religion for Lent, then how can I observe Lent if I am no longer religious?

Sort of a conundrum, no?
