Poll question: I'm too damned honest for my own good
I was leaving the grocery store with a cart full o' stuff (in re-useable bags) when I remembered I'd forgotten to get a jar of tea. So, I went back and fetched one, and thought, "How easy would it be to just stick this in one of the bags and wheel outa here?"

But, nooooooo! I went to the self-checkout and paid for it.

I leave it to you, the (mostly) good people of Teh Longue — am I a Sucka or an Upright Citizen?

4. Upright citizen.
Stealing isn't cool. The managers have to answer to corporate for theft, and as you know, shit rolls down hill. :D

5. The answer depends entirely upon how much hard cheese
you purchased. It says a lot about you, and we're all interested to find out...

7. Upright citizen, and, thankfully, not a moron.
How'd you like "shoplifted a jar of tea" on your record?

I once had a newspaper in my cart that didn't get rung up and I didn't figure it out until I got to my car, which was at least 100 yards away from the store. At the time, the Washington Post was 35 cents instead of its current 50, and I did not go back to pay for it. It was an honest mistake and I was in a hurry, so I didn't take the time. However, the next time I bought a Post from a machine I put in three quarters and took only one copy.

I abhor theft. Simply fucking abhor it.

8. I'm a Sagittarius, we're known for being brutally honest.
My husband and I are both Sagittariuses, we've had our issues in our youth, but said issues never involved cheating, stealing or lying. My SiL once told me that I would never have to worry about her brother cheating on me. She said if he even the slightest urge to cheat, he would discuss it with me first, so that we could work it out. I'm the same way, I just couldn't face the pain in his eyes if I ever cheated. My soul would carry extreme guilt until I died, and it would be a slow painful death.

Even when we fight, there are certain issues we both refrain from, and it's hard because we both tend to be brutally honest. Sagittarius's tend to be good mates for each other, but we have to draw boundary lines to make it work.

16. 'There's no doubt about it
this expedition does have some rather unusual aspects, Jim lad. For a first, why does the senior personnel all bear the names of Hollywood film stars of the '40s, and female ones at that? Shiver me timbers, 'tis the black spot! And secondly, I be not afraid of thee Blind Pew... Why do they talk this rather strange stilted, underground jargon? Belay the mainbrace, Squire Trelawney, this be my ship now! Argh! A tranquilizing dart fired by the cowardly BBC health department dogs! They've done filled me full of chlorpromazine, damn!"

18. All right, stop that! STOP THAT!
This thread's been hijacked, and it's silly, because I'm helping to hijack my own thread. Now, if anyone else pinches our slogan, "You can put lipstick on a pig in the Modern Army," I shall come down on them like a ton of moose! Right!

10. Stealing is dumb...
We end up paying for all the stuff that's stolen by paying higher prices.
