You can swap out parts, upgrade, fix it yourself, build your own.
Mac? Gotta call the corporation and get a new computer or nothing.

4. It's amazing they haven't figured it out. |

The PC guy gets all the funny lines while the Mac guy just stands there reciting copy points? They're doing it wrong.

7. I've never figure why Apple would put out such a Stupid Ad. |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 09:48 PM by BlueJazz
You know, "PC" is NOT an Operating System. There is ONE (count them) brand of Mac...It's called a "Mac" A "PC" (Personal Computer) comes in Hundreds of Brands. A PC can run a Windows base system or Linux or ..Whatever...So what the Fuck is the Mac Dude talking about?
Does He want to Compare a $3200.00 Mac to a $3200.00 PC ? I hope not cause he'll get his Ass handed to him... Figures Apple would put out such a Lame-Ass Dumb-Shit Ad.
..And the strange part is I even have a Mac (for Video work)
But I use the PC for Audio...It's way faster and takes better programs.

If they wanted to talk "shop" there's LOTS of cool things about a Mac but comparing a Mac to a PC is nuts.
I could see comparing a Mac to a Hp computer or Mac to a Dell...or any of 50 brands... ..but it's like they are comparing a good Steak to "Food"...just strange.....
On Edit: I know what bothers me..Mac IS a PC (Personal Computer)

In layman's terms, that really does boil down to Mac vs PC.

|
...ummm...enough time for people to know the difference.
Well...at least they (usually) know that Vista was a big mistake. I even got a free copy (being a MCSE and all that crap) and even I think it Sucks! :)

Now that I'm not supporting Windows-based machines, networks, and the like, I'm a Mac person and a much happier computer user. Of course, I still use a Windows-based machine for work, and guess what I'm doing right now? A SCANPST in an attempt to recover a flakey Outlook file. Sometimes you just can't escape Microsoft

15. Sure, but if you want to do that, you can get cheaper, faster better in a PC. |

I have a pretty goddamn spiffy Sony lappie that ran me $800. The equivalent macbook would be over a grand, and the only advantages it would have would be a built-in-camera, and OSX (if you call that an advantage- personally I can't stand it.)

17. OSX is definitely an advantage |
|
First of all, you don't have to spend anything extra protecting it from viruses. You probably won't need any tech support. On the rare occasions where the Mac starts acting up,just restart it, do a "Repair Permissions" from the Disk Utility application, and that takes care of most problems.
OS 10.4 and 10.5 are very stable, and run rings around Windows systems. I'm stuck with a Windows system at work, and would love to trade it for OS 10.4 or 10.5. Even 10.3.
A co-worker wanted to show me some pictures she took of her overseas trip today, and tried to load them from a flash memory into her new Sharp laptop PC. It took forever to evern start getting the pictures loaded. So I stuck her flash memory into my 3-year-old iBook and they loaded right away.
Really, I think that someone who says that OSX doesn't have advantages has never really used OSX.

That's fine. Some people don't want too, and that's cool, too but letting everyone know how much you don't like OS X is even cooler.
I'm not cool - I'm typing this on a MacBook Pro. A new one.

I *might* take it over Vista, but definitely not over XP.
OSX is definitely the better operating system if you really can't be trusted to control your own computer or generally have no common sense (though Vista is also really idiot-proofed) but as a user who knows what the hell she's doing, I much prefer XP for actually getting stuff done.

25. The messed up part is that Macs ARE PCs, period... |
|
The only difference between them is that Apple uses its own version of "DRM" if that's the appropriate word to lock out standard PCs from installing OSX(Customized Bios/ROM). They both use the same hardware, at least when it comes to Intel chipsets, and both can run the "standard" operating systems of Windows, Linux, etc.
