A GD math problem

So I tallied all the "we're doomed!" threads with "the tide is turning!" threads. Then I added the sum of impatience and multiplied it by confusion, which has made division of my brain cells. But what's the remainder? A truer understanding of our inevitable success/failure or just hidden threads?
