4. Good stuff!
"I'm Not There" finally released on the I'm Not There Originial Soundtrack is another great one. Great movie too, if a bit trippy. But Ledger is god.

8. Great thread topic
Dylan's consistent greatness so early in his life and, then, for so long sometimes manages to still astonish me. How can it be that on that Biograph 3-disc set, on disc #1 alone that he had that many great songs not on his first 3-4 records? I mean that's two whole records by 60s standards. And it is all stellar. Ramblin Gamblin Willie, When the Ship Comes In, Moonshiner, Davey Moore, and on and on....

Welcome to DU!!!

11. Thank you!
I forgot one of my very favorites, "Fourth Time Around" from Blonde.

I could listen to that song for hours, it's just gorgeous.

12. Hey yeah...I like it too
I haven't tried to track it down internet-wise, but do that song and Norwegian Wood have a relationship, i.e. one written in response to the other? The melodies are so similar, both in D (I think), both in 3/4, and both about empty, nearly anonymous 1-nite stands.

15. Yeah!
Actually I just read something about that. Dylan played John Lennon (I think it was Lennon) what would become Fourth Time Around, and then Lennon wrote Norwegian Wood. So the title that Bob came up with was "Fourth Time Around" which was supposedly a subtle shot at Lennon.

NOT the studio version though, the badass electric version from Royal Albert Hall, Live 1966. He just screams it out in defiance. So frickin' cool.

19. Awesome list.
For a long time, I had a verse from Idiot Wind framed and hanging up in my apartment =

"You hurt the ones that I love best -
And cover up the truth with lies.
One day you'll be in the ditch -
Flies buzzin' around your eyes.
Blood on your saddle."

28. Thanks!
I like that verse a lot. The intensity reminds me of the last verse from Masrers of War:

"And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead."
