Update on my dad, And request that you keep the vibes coming.
You may remember that my dad had a stress test that showed part of his heart wasn't getting enough blood. Well, they've scheduled a catheterization and angiogram for next Thursday morning. They'll probably put in a stent, though they won't know for sure until that day. There's a chance he'll come home the same day, but will probably stay overnight. He seems okay with the idea of this. I'm worried, though. I mean, they're messing with his heart!

I don't feel good about this--but I'm nervous about the fact that I need to drive to the hospital in Milwaukee. City driving makes me a nervous wreck. Especially in cities I don't know my way around in. I never actually lived up there. My folks moved there while I was in grad school.

I'm fine driving in Des Moines, because I know my way around on the surface streets. But Chicago and Milwaukee just stress me out!!

So, vibes for my dad and me, please.

1. My dear mycritters...
Aw, sweetie...

I wish I could help more than just saying these words...

Stents are done routinely these days.

The truth is, your dad will most likely be fine...

As for your driving around, I'm not sure what to suggest...

Good maps are a must, of course.

Maybe write down the route on something that you can easily look at while you're driving?

That's what I do, and it normally works pretty well.

Give yourself LOTS of time...

Maybe, if you can, go up the day ahead, so that you'll be there when he gets worked on?

Hugs to you both!

4. He's in West Bend, and we need to get to St. Luke Medical Center, which is on the south side,
I think. So, it's kind of a distance. I actually need to mapquest the route, yet. I hope we can meet while I'm there, lizziegrace!

Thanks for the

5. WeBe's about 40 miles from here (I think)
The trip there shouldn't be that bad. You'd take 45 and it's not a bad highway.

6. West Bend is a moderate to small sized town.
IIRC (it has been about 5 years since I have been there) West Bend is fairly easy to get around.

I am sending you vibes and thoughts for both your journey and your dad's health.
