Find some floatation device just in case you need it.
The surge in that mother is unfriggin believable - we have been dealing with it for 2 days now and the storm is 300 miles to our SW.
take good care

3. My mom told me she has 10 cans of soup, 2 cans of Spaghetti-O's, and the bathtubs full of water |
|
MrsCoffee had to practically sit on me to keep me from driving from Seattle to Houston yesterday.

4. They are downplaying the evacuation of Houston and that scares me |
|
The year that Katrina hit, MTV's Real World was in Key West Florida. Twice the kids had to evacuate for Rita and then Wilma. When they evactuated for Rita they drove up to Miami and stayed at a room in the Holiday Inn. So you'd think here's a high rise hotel, these kids should be safe.
It was probably the best TV ever for Real World as the hotel is starting to shread during the storm and the Real World kids are trying to find a safe place to stay.

5. My mom lives a mile from downtown Houston |
|
Expecting 100mph winds. She's mostly concerned about tree damage (they're used to the flooding). Stores are cleaned out, so my brother bought extra beer and smokes. :-) All the animals are in, so they're just going to keep their fingers crossed.
