In 1964, after Goldwater's defeat, the Republican party called upon magic in a effort to improve thier party and country.
They summoned three good fairies to work their magic upon America.
The first good fairy said all Americans shall be Republicans.
The second good fairy said that all Americans shall be honest.
The third good fairy said that all Americans shall be intelligent.
Alas, whenever you get 3 good fairies doing nice things for someone, an evil fairy will show up.
The evil fairy arranged it so that any American could be only 2 of the three things...
The Honest Republicans would not be intelligent.
The Intelligent Republicans would not be honest.
And the Honest, Intelligent Americans would not be Republicans.
