Today was my last day of work. I am unemployed. Let the party begin!
So I worked for the United States Postal Service until today. My plant was slated to close in November, and since there wasn't much work left, they let me and a few others go today.

I'm actually pretty excited about this, it's a turning the page type moment. I'm going to stop being a 24 year old manboy now and go out and apply to law schools and stuff and finally get movin' since I became PittGraduateInPoliSci last December. Now that I will be collecting unemployment and not having to worry about work, I can take my time to find the right law school for me and prepare hard for the LSATs, exercise more regularly (daily, as opposed to only 3 times, and lightly at that, a week), and catch up on some books I've been wanting to read.

But first, I've got a date tonight with a bunch of beer and some good friends.

It's weird saying "things are looking up now that I'm unemployed," but it's definitely how I feel. :)

5. You're not unemployed.
There's no such thing as "unemployed".

You've employed yourself to study being a student again.

Which, if I was 24, knew I had some income for a while, know I could get into a (law) school somewhere and had some means for covering the bills I might well be onto it in a flash.

Good luck!

Mark.

PS: hope you enjoyed the beer.
