He's been hell on wheels since he saw the new litter box (not filled yet).

Running around like a madman, bitey, scratchy, jumping for lightswitches.

Ah, feline insecurity. It's gonna be a long weekend. First order of the morning: claw trimming. I have my tea tree oil and bandaids on now. That hurt.

I miss having old, mellow cats, sometimes.

Edit: He has shut off the bathroom light. That's his new trick. When you're showering, to be exact. Very clever.

2. Yes, the switch is about 3.5-4 feet up...

He jumps straight up and swats it off.

That's nothing. I saw him jump about 5.5 feet straight up one day and knock our wall clock off the wall, sending it tumbling several feet. He didn't like the ticking hands.

3. Is he a total in-door kitty?
I had one once that was never out of the apt. That sucker could climb the walls and bounce off the ceiling. He could run around the living room and never touch the floor. No Lie!

4. Yes, he is...We're on the 5th floor
I just wore him out with a good session of laser pointer. He's passed out now. I'm hoping the new cat will keep him occupied more than I can during the work/school week.

I should contract him out to Cirque de Soleil. Acrobat kitteh! :D

5. That's so funny! keep up the good work in adopting kittens!!
I have yet to be able to clip a kittie's nails. How does anyone do that?? Even my mellowest of kitties won't stand for it!! They just seem to take it out on our much-beleaguered furniture. They would do this on the side of my head, but I move around every once in a while?

I am so glad that you have decided to get a new kitty--there are so many that need a good home!

XXXXOOOO to you!

6. It's a two man/woman operation:
1) Person 1 wraps kitteh in towel, one front paw exposed.

2) Person 2 grasps paw and extends claws by pressing the pad while Person 1 keeps cat from killing both of us.

3) Person 2 clips claws as fast and carefully as possible while Person 2 keeps cat restrained against his will.

Repeat for front paw #2. :D

Back claws never get very long at all. It's a 2 paw job. Not fun, always have Quik-Stop or Cornstarch on hand for possible bleeding, wear long sleeves.

Thanks babe. We're very excited to adopt our new family member. It might be a rough transition, might not. Either way, your brother will get quite a show next time he's here. :D

PS- My kitteh likes to chew my hair. It's weird. And unwelcome. :P

7. Cats Know
Otis has been sulking since I posted Gracie's pic on DU. He doesn't actually make a scene, it's more passive-agressive than that.

Oh yeah, yer fussin' over her again, I see

8. LOL! He figured out how to turn off the bathroom light while you were in the shower?

Never underestimate a cat. They can be evil little creatures.

My older female cat is very docile, snuggly, and friendly. Always a sweetheart.

But my slightly younger male has always been more of a challenge, a total fart, and I call him my "snarly butt."

I just consider him a "special needs" kitty, and give him extra TLC. He cuddles and snuggles with me, but also tries to kill me by night by being underfoot if I get up in the dark to go to the biffy.

I keep night lights on now. And that little snarly shit butt is lucky I immediately picked up my foot to save him from getting squished. But it cost me a couple grand in x-rays.

Good thing I love the little shit.

9. God, that 's funny!
My niece once trained her dog to shut off the lights. Unfortunately, it didn't take too long before he discovered he could turn them on, too. There were light shows at that house for awhile.
