Bike stolen in Columbus, OH, found on Craigslist in Austin, TX. |

I wonder if this is an organized ring or if the bike just had an interesting journey. http://austin.craigslist.org/bik/838333798.html

2. The thing is, there are always a lot of bikes on CL here. |

Some of them just scream STOLEN. Some guy posted four bikes the other night, for $30 each, and said they had to be sold by 8 that evening. The bikes looked random, not like what a family or individual would acquire. And some people are so vague in their info you can tell they don't know anything about the bike they are selling.
Austin is a big bike town, so it would be a smart place to show up with a UHaul full of stolen bikes for sale, and probably a bad place to sell a bike you had stolen from within Austin itself. So the ring makes sense. And cops here and elsewhere have busted a couple of bike theft rings.
