I brewed 10 gallons of oatmeal stout last night |
|
I think it'll be the perfect toasting pint on election night.
Anybody else brew beer on DU? I had let it go for about 9 months but I think I'm going to keep with it since the price of grain needed to make 10 gallons of beer is about the price of a typical import case.

3. It's a little bit of an investment for the equipment |
|
Though there are plenty of work arounds with a little help on the internet. And it's a little bit of work (takes about 5-6 hours if you decide to use the all grain method).
But oh... The rewards. Fresh beer with no additives. Beer made to your taste. And, the best part - only 25 - 35 dollars for ten gallons.
MMMMMmmmm

2. I read that as "stout oatmeal." You could be eating that stuff for eons! |

I no longer have the equipment, though, so I've got to reinvest. But one of these days I hope to. :)
Enjoy your oatmeal stout--sounds like good stuff :toast:

7. I'm planning on making some pumpkin ale |

I should do it in the next week or two. In the kegerator I have a Duvel clone, some British bitters, and a smokey porter.

I never got into smoked beers. Though, I like smoked foods. Go figure.
I take it you do all grain if you keg that many at once.
