I don't care who killed Jesus
and I think he'd groan in his grave if he knew that his peaceful sacrifice for the sake of free speech and religion would turn into a bloody 2000 year old blame game.

Jesus could have saved himself if he'd renounced what he believed in his heart. Instead, he chose to martyr himself to demonstrate that freedom is more important than life.

Jesus reincarnate got married in San Francisco last week...

2. Me, either!
And it seems to me that if you believe it was supposed to happen, and those are the rules and everything, it shouldn't be an issue. Am I wrong?

6. Exactly!
What are all those fundies whining about, pointing fingers 'you killed Jesus!' For God's sake, I thought that was the point. Without him dying on the cross, there wouldn't have been resurrection and all that other stuff.

People are so stupid.

18. exactly. GOD killed jesus.
if you will remember, jesus was in the garden and BEGGED god to let this cup pass from him.

but no. god would have no part of that. he was going to be damned sure that by the end of the night his son would be on his way to being history.

after all, if jesus didn't die, how could all of this crap have gotten started.

so god manipulated the whole scene. the jews were just handy scapegoats.

and thanks to mel, we can stir THAT pot again.

5. "Jesus reincarnate got married in San Francisco last week"

Too true if he were here he would either be the presider or the groom
the fundies are not Jesus lovers they are Jesus haters they are so busy having a circle jerk to the passion but they spit on their neighbor for their sexuality. They are sickening in their hypocrisy.

8. Do you think if Jesus told them to mind their own business,
in a whirlwind of fire and brimstone, that they'd listen? I seriously doubt most would.

days of Christianity in a historically accurate fashion.

15. I'm no expert, but it's my understanding
that there's information from texts such as the Gnostic Gospels, and other historical evidence which can debunk stories of Mary Magdalene being a prostitute, Jesus dying on the cross, and other notions made popular by King James.

Much has been lost over 2,000 years; but I suspect much could be reconstructed in a believable fashion.

11. And anyway
Jesus forgave them while he was on the cross. During his ministry, he also preached the radical notion of loving your enemies. If a Christian believes in either one of these things, there is no reason to hold anything against the "Christ killer(s)".

19. Was it not this site that said the Freeps would go nuts over this?
They have. I frankly do not care either and I have see enough art to make my skin crawl on how he died. It was a Roman thing to kill people like that. Each age seem to pick a new way to do such things.I think the right wing are going to now call us anti-Christians if we do not wish to see the movie or do not like it if we do.What is it with those type Christians that like blood and guts so?

I find it interesting that the fundy "christians" find Romanesque violence and gore so appealing.
