I was kinda forced to listen to him around 92 or 93. Driving a beat up old delivery van with a crappy AM radio that only got one station, and wouldn't you know it was the right wing talk channel. But it was either that or fall asleep on the road. Hobson's choice, really. But I'll admit I got a few laughs out of old Limpballs back then. He was still completely wrong about everything, just not so damn hateful about it.

Actually, I do have a story about Rush Limbaugh, but forgive me if I have shared this before with you. I used to work with the commercial networks, mainly CBS and FOX (The Simpsons, not the news...) and my NBC counterpart told me that my CBS News contact, who I liked a lot and was also Dan Rather's publicist, back in the day) was, in real life, dating Rush Limbaugh. I researched it myself and discovered that my friend was not wrong, but I never managed to get up the nerve to bring it up with my CBS News contact. I liked her... :-(
