Charlotte, NC?
Hey, I'll be heading to Charlotte on 9/25 to help knock on some doors and register some High-schoolers...

Any DU'ers in that area? Suggestions on places to eat?

Clueless in CA

1. Just don't eat the Krystal Burgers
If you do you'll be out there knocking on doors to see if someone will let you use their bathroom instead of trying to talk to them about Obama. :)

3. He'd have to go to Asheville to do that...
The Krystal stands in Charlotte have closed, according to Krystal's website.

'Course, he could always swing down to Spartanburg to get some.

14. Yes it is
One of the few places you can do a direct head-to-head comparison of the two is Nashville, where both chains have outlets. But for the most part, White Castle is a Northeastern gut bomb and Krystal a Southeastern one.

4. Depepnds on what ya like.
Charlotte features a pretty wide range of good food. Things from good burger/diner type joints, good "taco" trucks around to fine dining. It's all over the board, and about anything you could want. Instead of personal preferences as i would have you in all greasy spoons i just added a link that contains a list of places to eat and their area.

9. You are welcome.
Your Obama shirt will be received in Charlotte proper pretty well. However some of the outer wealthy suburbs, and rural areas are strongholds for Gop worshipers. Overall though Obama might even win here the way it's looking.

Enjoy the trip.

7. good question -
You can probably tell me! I'll be staying with friends, but the address where I'll be meeting the canvassing folks is here:

1523 Elizabeth Ave. near Presbyterian Hospital and CPCC

If that helps narrow down the area?

downtown Charlotte. There are a ton of little restaurants over on 3rd and 4th st. What type of food are you wanting? Now keep in mind you are going to be in the south. So everything comes with lots of lard or sugar.

11. LOL
Even the coffee comes with Lard?

Ok, 3rd and 4th street...(writing that down)

I'm pretty eclectic, and maybe since I'll be in the south, I should make southern food the priority...

10. Yeah, welcome!
:hi:

I guess a lot depends on where in town you end up. Lupie's (on Monroe Rd) is my favorite dive for burgers and chili. The Plaza-Midwood area in general has many good restaurants, Dish and Thomas Street Grill come to mind. NoDa also has many good locally owned eateries, Fish Tacos, yum!

Thanks for visiting, we love the help!

Lupie's, Dish, Thomas Street grill - got it.

My pleasure to help, actually! I think I'll send my contact info to all you natives, just in case anyone wants to toast to our upcoming victory while I'm there -

Cheers!
