Is it ok to talk to strangers on Facebook?
I signed up to keep in touch with my sis who lives in another country and ended up finding lots of other people I know. So that is fun. But now I am beginning to get friend requests from friends of friends who I have never met, mostly through my political network. I post political articles and videos on my book which I like to share with anyone who will pay attention, but also pics of my kids and minor details from my personal life.

Is there any harm in friending these people who are probably just local volunteer activists like myself wanting to make more connections? Or are there problems I am not aware of? Being new to the world of on-line networking, I don't want to do anything dumb.
