I participated in a Bahai worship service this afternoon.
It was interesting, and they seem like nice people--but it was clear they were trying to get me to sign up. I'm fine where I am. It was interesting to hear their sacred scriptures read though. And Bahai kids singing Bahai songs are every bit as cute and loveable as Christian kids singing "Jesus Loves Me".

1. Doesn't anyone ever say "another person of faith? Tell me your experience" anymore?
Or is it all "sign here"?

4. This is why I suck at evangelism, which is supposed to be part of my job.
I think other faiths are really interesting, and that the world would be wicked boring if we were all the same. But at the refreshment time after this service, it was clear that people saw me as a potential convert...which is the best way to NOT win me as a convert.

5. Yep, attraction, not promotion.
Promotion is an instant turn-off.

Don't worry about not having strength in promoting your faith- you can be a quiet positive example (God made you as you are for the right reasons).

On the other hand, I myself am horrific at being a quiet anything

Have a nice night, and I'm glad that you had a good time, as much as was possible.

2. Did you go to the temple north of chicago?
That place is so beautiful. The gardens are nice, but its also really pretty when its lit up at night.

3. No, it was right here in my town. It was supposed to be in the park
across from my church, but because of the rain it was at the Masonic Temple. I've never been to the temple, but I hear it's beautiful.
