"Fluff" lit alert: Have you read Rita Mae Brown's mysteries? |
|
Either the Mrs. Murphy series or the Sister Jane series?
I have to admit I like her other novels better, Six of One, Bingo and Venus Envy being my faves, but I am entertained by the mysteries.

1. I'm in the process of reading them, have only CLAWS AND EFFECT to go. |
|
Of the mysteries about Harry Harristeen and her four-footed friends, that is.
I really enjoy them but sometimes her characters get on their soapboxes. Still, the opinions expressed are generally progressive.

I recommend the Sister Jane mysteries. Maybe more than you ever wanted to know about foxhunting, but they are entertaining. (Edit: Rita Mae Brown is a master of foxhounds.)
The first in that series is Outfoxed. (The book was my first birthday gift from Mrs. V. :))

4. Long-time fan of the Mrs. Murphy series |
|
Although I do think it's getting a bit stale, and I keep wondering how long she's going to continue it: Mrs. Murphy is getting up there in years.

8. they're very light, like I said, "fluff" |
|
but they're fun. The animals have all the funny lines. :)
I do enjoy her non-serial novels more.

|
there just wasn't enough meat there to satisfy me, and i was sad because when she first started writing then it seemed that she was capable of so much more

10. Everyone knows that Sneaky Pie is the brains behind her books. |
|
;)
My wife reads them, so I have secondhand knowledge of her books.
