the squirrel didn't make it
yesterday, i found this half-fried squirrel in the gangway.

he looked dead. i guess he arced some power line and got popped off.

anyway, i noticed he was moving his head, and i think 'oh shit. it's still alive.' so i grab a clean towel and scoop him up, took him to the vet, and they said, "yes, this squirrel is still alive."

they tried to stabilize him, but he died this evening around 6.

1. You tried.
Most people wouldn't have given a shit. I'm sorry he didn't make it but you've got a great heart for even trying.

3. Squirrel Love
Me and squirrels go way back.
I'd feel desperate and not know what to do if that happened to one in my yard though :(

4. I do not want any
animal to suffer

BUT I can not feel for squirrels

one ate through the power lines one Thanksgiving....

no ones turkey got cooked, we lost power all day

and yes we found the crispy critter, so we know who did it

and they woke me up at 3am

chewing their way through my sheetrock in the closet... had to get up and make some
cement so we could go back to sleep

and they destroyed my neighbors house

so please forgive me if I don't care

5. Would you have left it there to suffer or at least humanely put it out of its misery?

6. it was dead
no doubt about it

no one had to do anything to
help it.....

I would have made it comfortable
not sure how to put it out if its misery "humanely"
also not sure if I would have tried to find an emergency vet....did that a few times
and all the animals died any way

8. Poor little guy
One of the most touching stories to ever hit the comics.
Watch the touching, memorable story when Calvin and Hobbes find a hurt raccoon.
